Tanith and The Lion Tree In Stock And Available To Order!
FFlesh Eating Ants Records first release: Edward Ka-spel's masterpiece
Tanith And The Lion Tree, is now in stock and available to order. For
instructions on how to order the album go here. The album
has already sold amazingly well in pre-orders alone, and due to the
instant collectability of this release we are expecting a rapid sell
out.
Tanith and the Lion Tree was originally released in 1991 on Third Mind
Records. Edward had always planned for Tanith and the Lion Tree to be
released on vinyl, but due to label concerns, this had never come to be.
Now, over a decade later, flesh eating ants records is proud to bring
Tanith and the Lion Tree to the medium it was always meant to be released
on.
Tanith and the Lion Tree is now available to order as a double LP on grey,
220 gram audiophile vinyl (using direct metal mastering for the highest sound quality), in a limited edition of 512 copies.
With this release Edward Ka-Spel took the opportunity to retouch and
remaster all of the classic tracks on the original CD release. Edward was
also kind enough to share three brand new bonus tracks with the world,
allowing Flesh Eating Ants Records to release Tanith and the Lion Tree as
a full, double LP. The track list for the first LP in this set is the way
the original vinyl release was intended, with the second LP containing
"Phoney War" and "Old Man Trouble" (which were originally intended as CD
only bonus tracks), as well as the three new bonus tracks: "Diary 11th",
"Diary 12th", and "Diary 13th". These new bonus tracks complement the rest
of the second LP amazingly well. When asked about these tracks, Edward
Ka-Spel had this to say:
Extra pieces "Diary (11th to 13th)" were written and recorded on September
11th, 12th and 13th, 2001 respectively. They are in fact solo "demos" due
to be presented to The Legendary Pink Dots for the band's next album.
However, the personal nature of these recordings made me wish that people
would hear them. They also seem to fit... "Phoney War" and "Old Man
Trouble" were recorded when the Gulf war was raging.
Ah, the more it changes...
Behold the mighty Tanith and the Lion Tree in all her glory.
Samples:
- Diary 11th (970 kb)
- Diary 12th (1.37 mb)
- Diary 13th (1.06 mb)
